Start a conversation

Choose Conversation and use the single microphone. Either person can speak. For the smart beta, SayGo records a short turn, asks OpenAI transcription to identify the spoken language from the languages you selected and any optional regional hint, then translates in the appropriate direction. Wait for Recording… Speak now before speaking. A short rising sound signals capture has started; a lower falling sound signals it has ended. Tap the same microphone to finish. Location is optional and processed only as a coarse on-device language hint; SayGo does not treat location as proof of a person’s language or dialect.

If the microphone is unavailable

Speech support depends on the browser, device and language. Check site microphone permission and device speech settings. Use the microphone recovery button after a failure, or type instead.

Add SayGo to your iPhone

In Safari, use Share → Add to Home Screen. If speech is unavailable in the home-screen app, open the same address in Safari or type instead. New translations need a connection; enable offline app storage below before relying on saved phrases without a connection.

How your data is used

Typed and recognised text is sent to MyMemory’s third-party demo translation API. Browser or device speech services may process audio and the text used for speech playback. Native browser speech stays with the browser/device service. If extra speech support is enabled, SayGo temporarily handles a short recording and sends it through Netlify to OpenAI for transcription. It is not written to app storage, offline files or logs by SayGo; provider processing and retention still apply. Conversation history stays in memory; saved phrases stay in this browser until you delete them or clear website data. Anyone with access to the browser profile may see saved text.

Storage and deletion

SayGo adds no advertising or analytics scripts. Saved phrases are stored only after you tap Save. Offline app storage is optional: choose Enable offline app to store app files, not translations or audio. The in-memory translation cache reuses results for up to five minutes, schedules expired entries for removal and holds at most 32 results; history shows up to eight turns. Refresh or Clear conversation removes session text. Hosting, translation and speech providers may keep their own logs. MyMemory’s terms describe long-term segment storage and partner processing; SayGo cannot guarantee provider deletion or confidentiality.

Delete device data removes SayGo’s saved phrases, current text and offline app cache from this browser. It does not erase downloads, copied clipboard text, browser history, microphone permissions or provider records. After successful deletion, offline storage stays off until you enable it again.

This is a beta preview, not a private or production translation service. Translations can be inaccurate. Don’t enter confidential information or rely on them for emergencies.
